AlgoWork Roundtable
19.11.2025 15:00-16:00
Min Kyung Lee is an assistant professor in the School of Information at the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Lee has conducted some of the first studies that empirically examine the social implications of algorithms’ emerging roles in management and governance in society. Her current research is inspired by and complements her previous work on social robots for long-term interaction, seamless human-robot handovers, and telepresence robots.

Taking a worker-centric perspective, Min Kyung Lee examines mechanisms of effective participation and regulation in algorithmic management contexts. Drawing on studies of participatory preference modeling in shift scheduling and a multi-stakeholder investigation of regulatory processes around algorithmic management, Min Kyung Lee highlights design and policy strategies for aligning algorithms, organizations, and governance.
